July 21-28, 2007
A high spirited young team of six from Sugar Land, Texas joined us as team 5. They painted the second half of Steve Oliver Memorial Dormitories, participated in Equinotherapy, therapy in the Rehabilitation Center with the mothers and held a 3 day vacation bible school for a local church which drew over 100 local children. In the middle of the week another shipment of wheelchairs arrived a the Hub from Colorado. The team unloaded the container and organized all of the equipment in the warehouse. Later that week they visited Rancho de los ninos, an orphanage for disabled children and helped install safety nets on the playground. They also visited the prison and participated in a very successful wheelchair distribution. In addition, this team blessed the mothers and therapists who work in the therapy center with wonderful gifts of relaxing beauty supplies. The team also helped redesign the roof of the Equinotherapy arena to help slough off the rain and lengthen the life of the arena canopy.
